It is very quick and does a great job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums the carpeted rooms incredibly quickly and hardwood floors in the living room, and hallways in a single sweep. Its 8,000pa suction motor will quickly pick up sand, dirt and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it encounters rugs and the dual side brushes help draw out debris from corners.

The mopping efficiency is less impressive, though not by much. The mop's rotating mechanism spins fast and utilizes 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arm protrudes out a little more than other robots. This is helpful when getting into tight corners or on baseboards. The front arms can be used to sweep larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys or books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mops and vacuums I've tried. It is quieter and doesn't produce as much noise when mopping or vacuuming. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it needs to use a proprietary mopping solution and is sold separately. It's simple to install and performs well, but it's something you'll have to be aware of in case you're purchasing this vacuum solely for the purpose of it mopping.

The base comes with a couple of buttons for control that let you manually start cleaning tasks, recall the robot or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two of the buttons to switch on a child lock, which is a nice touch for parents worried about their children playing with the vacuum.

Like other best robotic mop and vacuum vacuums the Omni Omni uses its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path and eliminate them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system can map your home 10 times faster than laser detection systems and is four times more accurate at finding objects.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni can sometimes get so entangled with obstacles, like a power cord draped across a rug that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you free it. This was a rare incident, but frustrating nonetheless, since the X1 does not have a "stuck status" alert in its application.

Another potential downside is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming modes during the cleaning process. You will need to manually swap between the two, which isn't an issue apart from the fact that the mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between use which could lead to mildew or mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed the sleek modern base and mopping pad. It's a huge departure from the utilitarian all-black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. And it's an excellent choice for the market that is dominated by boxy models.
