The ability to upgrade items allows players to improve their weapons and equipment with new affixes, increasing its stats base or giving additional benefits. To upgrade an item, a player has to have it in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Items with weak bases, like rings can be upgraded to more robust bases. Items with bases that are strong, such as the Titans of eth have little change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools. They give you an attribute benefit, or additional effect, when the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, retrieved as loot by enemies, or gotten from chests and missions. Some upgrades additionally have special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a specific level to upgrade.

To upgrade a weapon, armor or other item in the game, the player must select it and click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. The screen will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade stats and the necessary component or materials.

There are three kinds of upgrade components that are universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which include gems, can be placed in any kind of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Leveling
