The robots also feature the feature of Carpet Boost that increases its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.

Both the Q5 as well as the Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our tests on floors that are bare, and they're particularly adept in removing pet hair. They do have some flaws however, which prevent them from being our first option. For Robot Hoover one, the Q5's navigation doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to get caught up in shoes and socks and can't navigate rooms with a lot of people efficiently in our tests. It also has a self-emptying dustbin, powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robotic hoover for carpets, however it falls behind some competitors in terms of deep cleaning.

This highly efficient mop and vacuum combination uses advanced sensor technology to avoid obstacles and pet waste, and it will learn your home's layout over time for more efficient cleaning. The app lets you modify zones and alter the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average in comparison to other models.

It also supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after vacuuming, a feature that hasn't been seen in other robotic vacuum/mop combos.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

This robot vacuum and mop combination has a sleek, circular design that appears more like the regular Roomba unit than the boxy models of the competition. It's one of our most attractive robot hoover vacuums. The latest model from iRobot is also the most intelligent. It has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads on its own).

It's also the only robotic vacuum or mop that scored the perfect 10/10 out of 10 in our evaluations. This is thanks to the combination of modern sensors, including a restructured light system, Robot Hoover camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot in our tests that can completely autonomously refill and empty its base station and it has an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40 as with other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It has an intuitive mobile app interface that integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only drawback is that it's loud, which can be problematic if you run it in the morning prior to work, or at night when you try to sleep.

It's also a bit expensive, though it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally capable and look better. This is a two-in-one vacuum that is very efficient however it's more expensive and make more noise.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot mop and vacuum. It has a range of advanced features that help you forget your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaner that is similar to Ecovacs top-of-the-line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It has a multifunction dock which automatically emptys the bin of the vacuum, refills the water tank, as well as washes and dry the mop pads.

The RX3 is more advanced than its price would suggest. It has a great vacuuming performance and was able to remove 55% of debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with a single pad and a rotating motion that cleans better that most of the mop cleaners with robots that we've tried. It's also self-sufficient with a fully-featured app, and a self-emptying base that is washable.

The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through a mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules or to set up the spot-cleaning. It can also be used to it to rank your most filthy areas to improve performance. The app comes with a variety of features, such as seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.
